A look back at the Think Tank 30 event on ethics and artificial intelligence held on July 23, 2025, in Munich.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

Artificial intelligence is changing our world. But how can we ensure that it does so for the better? That was precisely the focus of the interactive regional event organized by ThinkTank30<\/a> (TT30) and the German Club of Rome<\/a>, which brought together leading figures from academia, diplomacy, civil society, business, and the tech sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Key Findings on Ethics & AI<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udd39 AI can create abundance<\/strong>\u2014if we design it thoughtfully. By 2050, we could look back with pride on an inclusive, resource-efficient use of AI that strengthens health, education, and the common good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udd39 Bias is unavoidable<\/strong>\u2014but it can be reduced. AI reflects societal prejudices. The path to greater fairness lies in better data, diverse perspectives, and \u201cConstitutional AI\u201d grounded in ethical principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udd39 Values are context-dependent.<\/strong> AI must operate in a traceable and transparent manner\u2014but which values prevail depends on the application context and cultural framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udd39 Sustainability starts with small models. <\/strong>Instead of massive, general-purpose AI systems, we need specialized, regionally adapted solutions\u2014energy-efficient, data-efficient, and human-centered.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udd39 Public Interest AI requires political will.<\/strong> With the AI Act, Europe has laid a solid foundation. But to embed our values in technology, we need targeted procurement, regulation\u2014and bold visions that serve the common good.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udd39 AI literacy is a key competency. <\/strong>From Finnish online courses for civil servants to empowerment programs in South African townships\u2014education is the lever for an ethically mindful AI future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
